Since Prometheus brought light to mankind, innovation and creativity have been the motor that has driven human civilization forward. It is a similar drive toward musical excellence and innovation that has marked the growth of the Pottstown Symphony Orchestra since its inception, making it the premiere ensemble it is today.
This season we offer a mix of great concertos, immortal symphonies, intriguing chamber music, and glorious soloists. Whether the passion of Tchaikovsky, the wit of Rossini or the elegance of Haydn enraptures you, you will find something this season to warm your heart and leave its memory with you forever.
In December we continue our immensely successful Messiah Sing-In and our tradition of Holiday Concerts. In November we inaugurate a Crossover Concert featuring classics’ greatest hits; and we conclude our Masterworks series in March with a tour de force concert in the greatest Romantic tradition. We offer you surprises to tease your musical curiosity and will make you proud to be part of our orchestra community.
The Pottstown Symphony is dedicated to music education and to bringing musical masterpieces to thousands of children in the Tri County region. This year we present the witty “Sneaky Pete and the Wolf” featuring Prokofiev’s music with original narration from the legendary Peter Schickle, known to many as PDQ Bach.
The future of this region and of your orchestra has begun.
