Johnna Wu is a sixteen-year old junior attending Conestoga High School. She began studying the violin at the age of four, and was first instructed by her grandfather. At age eight, she made her debut performing in the annual Yuletide Celebration of Indianapolis with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has soloed with the Carmel, New World, and Indianapolis Symphony Orchestras, and has participated in masterclasses with Pamela Frank, Barnabas Kelemen, Alex Kerr, and Daniel Hope. She is also a former member of the Indiana University Violin Virtuosi, and has studied with Professor Mimi Zweig at the Indiana University Summer String Academy for the past five summers.
Johnna is currently a student of Yayoi Numazawa and Yumi Ninomiya Scott, and is a member of the Temple University Youth Chamber Orchestra. Johnna also enjoys being involved in her school, and participates in the National Honors Society, Tri-M Music Honors Society, and Anti-Defamation League. |
